Ranking on google
Is ranking highly on the first page of Google search all that it is cracked up to be?
There is a corny joke amongst online marketers that goes like this:
Q: Where is the best place to hide a dead body?
A: On the second page of a Google search!
There are some remarkable statistics for Google’s first search result page (SERP). The studies show that 90% of people never watch beyond the first page of Google. The first 10 positions are most wanted as they get 94% of all clicks. This means that positioning on a second page is already a battle lost. If the website is not easily found and positions further than second page it basically doesn’t exist at all.
Also results on mobile and desktop can vary greatly. Even where you are located could make a difference to what you see on the search result page. So make sure that you are being found for search phrases that bring you leads and convert into dollars in the bank.
SEM includes search engine optimization (SEO) and Google AdWords (PPC) paid advertising. The objective of search engine marketing is to make the website visible online and accessible in search. Both SEO and PPC have the same purpose and by combining those techniques they support each other in their activities and fill gaps that arise when you use only one part of search engine marketing.
Search engine optimisation and Google AdWords work in harmony with each other, to make your website visible online and have a good online ranking to ensure a first page Google ranking.
